Graduated from The College of Wooster, Ohio, in 1992 with a Bachelors Degree in The Physiology of Exercise and Sport, where he received honors on his Thesis, Effects of Warm Down Techniques on the Removal of Lactic Acid Following Maximal Human Performance. Later this study was published In the The Journal of Swimming Research. While at the College of Wooster where Keith was recruited he competed in the NCAC conference for swimming.

Keith came to Connecticut in 1992 to work in the field of Physical Therapy as an Exercise Physiologist. In 1994, Keith pursued a post graduate degree in Physical Therapy at the University of Hartford in West Hartford, Connecticut, graduating in 1998 with honors. After practicing for 7 years Keith returned and completed a Clinical Doctorate degree in Orthopaedic Physical Therapy from Northeastern University, in Boston MA, where he also received the distinction of honors for his work.

Keith has been practicing orthopedic manual medicine in the southern Connecticut and Hamden area since his graduation in 1998. During that time, he has been utilizing such techniques as non- thrust joint mobilizations used on the spine and extremities, manual mobilization techniques along with the identification of specific movement impairment patterns. Utilizing such procedures he states helps identify the true pathology of dysfunction in order to effectively treat and alleviate the corresponding symptoms.

Keith also has a specialization certification in the training of athletes and sport-specific training, as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. He has worked with athletes from the young amateur, high school level and the semi-pro and professional athletes. As a previous collegiate swimmer he has a particular interest in the treatment of the shoulder. Keith is certified by Sole Supports Orthotics as a provider to cast and distribute foot orthotics. This complements his work with runners and those with conditions of the foot and ankle.

Dr. Steigbigel also enjoys the academic atmosphere and is currently part time Faculty at Quinnipiac University involved in their Physical Therapy program, as well as lecturing within the community and facilities such as Yale New Haven Hospital.
